Case Study 1
IVSS for District & Subordinate Courts of Madhya Pradesh
The Challenge:
The Supreme Court (SC) of India has mandated that all high courts, district courts and subordinate courts in the country should install security & surveillance systems for making court premises safer. The Madhya Pradesh High Court (MPHC) based in Jabalpur, is one of the oldest High Courts in the country. MPHC decided to implement the SC mandate and appointed MIPL for undertaking risk analysis and proposing the security solution. Accordingly, MIPL conducted a physical survey of 201 court premises spread across the state of MP, in 50 districts. By their very nature & purpose, courts are public premises, so the challenge was to design a security solution that its unobtrusive, but efficient and embedded in the operative policies of the courts.
The Solution:
MIPL has designed an integrated video surveillance system with distributed monitoring across the subordinate & district courts of MP, with central command & control at MPHC.
The solution involves:
– 5 MP IP cameras
-Biometric access control for judges’ chambers
-Provision of live streaming using the video surveillance system
-Audio recording & surveillance
-Integration of all security elements (such
as walk through metal detectors) with command & control
-Provision of ability to judges to pause live audio / video streaming
-Integration of video surveillance with case tracking & management software
-Multi-layered, fault-tolerant, redundant, system architecture
-Viewing of camera feeds on portable / mobile devices for certain judges
-Distributed control rooms in every district
& one central command & control room
The total project cost is more than 20 million USD.
